Tim Curry dies at 80, renewing attention on cult cinema and stage legacy

Tim Curry, the British actor whose Dr. Frank-N-Furter turned The Rocky Horror Picture Show into a midnight-screening institution, died peacefully at his Los Angeles home on Tuesday at age 80, according to his manager. AP noted that no cause was disclosed; Variety said Curry had dealt with health issues after a severe 2012 stroke. His career stretched well beyond Rocky Horror, including Clue, It, Home Alone 2, Muppet Treasure Island, Spamalot, Amadeus and extensive voice work, making the tributes a reminder that cult performance can become a long-term entertainment asset.

Superman: Man of Tomorrow wraps, giving DC a long runway to 2027

James Gunn said principal photography has wrapped on Superman: Man of Tomorrow, the sequel to 2025’s Superman. Rupert Grint brings Ron Weasley back to Broadway

Rupert Grint will reprise Ron Weasley in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child at Broadway’s Lyric Theatre from February 2 to May 30, 2027. Taipei adds K-pop festival heat as Golden Bell hosts are named
